📄 Upcoming Billing Changes

New Billing Model (Effective January 1, 2025)​

TL;DR

Starting January 1, 2025, ZapCap will require an active subscription for API access without watermarks. Current users can use the existing pay-as-you-go model until the end of 2024. Subscriptions include Pro and Agency+ plans, and our credit pricing remains unchanged.

ZapCap is introducing changes to our billing model to provide better service and support for our growing user base.

Why We're Making These Changes​

We value transparency and want to share the key reasons behind this change:

  • Sustainable Platform Growth: Our current pay-as-you-go model operates on razor-thin margins. This change will help us maintain and improve the platform effectively while keeping API credit prices stable.

  • Empowering High-Usage Users: Rather than increasing API pricing (which would affect those supporting many users), we're maintaining current credit costs. This allows you to scale your user base without worrying about rising per-usage costs.

  • Investment in Development: The subscription model enables us to:

    • Accelerate feature development and implementation
    • Expand our support team
    • Treat the API as a first-class citizen with dedicated resources
    • Provide faster response times and better support

  • Fair Value Exchange: The subscription fee, typically equivalent to the cost of just one of your own subscribers, helps keep our API accessible and affordable for everyone while ensuring sustainable service delivery.

Key Changes​

Subscription Requirement​

Starting January 1, 2025, an active subscription will be required to access the API without watermarks. Choose from:

Pro Plan​

  • Full API access
  • Standard support
  • Access to new features and updates
  • Suitable for professionals and small businesses

Agency+ Plan​

  • Higher concurrency support
  • Priority feature development
  • Dedicated support
  • Direct input into product roadmap
  • Ideal for agencies and enterprises

Trial Access​

  • Available for testing and development
  • Includes $5 in free credits
  • Watermark on all output videos
  • Full API functionality for testing
  • Perfect for:
    • API integration testing
    • Evaluating capabilities
    • Development environment

Credit System​

  • Credits work the same as always
  • Usage rates unchanged:
    • 10 cents per minute of video processing
    • Storage costs remain at $0.015 per GB/month

Transition Period​

For Existing Users​

  • Currently grandfathered users can continue with the current pricing model until December 31, 2024
  • Subscription required from January 1, 2025 to remove watermarks and maintain uninterrupted service
